Firefly I Am Longbow
FIREFLY JAMES 4:14
The Firefly I Am is a handmade bow by James Jones in Central Michigan. Previously going by word of mouth, email, and landline phone calls. We here at The Amsteel Guy thought that this hidden gem in the traditional archery world needed to be shared with the world in any way possible. We partnered with Jim (see story below on how we met and formed a friendship and business relationship in just a short time) to bring his bows to as many people as we possibly can! The messenger is a sleek fast shooting bow that is a dream to shoot. .... insert info/specs/anything I need for the site....

The Story
My dad, Jon, shot a firefly all throughout my high school years (2010-2014). Killing a coyote with it and always raving about it. Long story short he ended up selling it for some reason and has told me for 10 years how he regretted it. Fast forward to January 2025. We are at the Kalamazoo Traditional Archery Expo, our first year setting a booth up here. I have been religiously shooting compounds for the last couple years and finally having success doing so. I had zero intentions of going back to trad hunting., But, Eric (my product quality/right hand man) wanted a bow. He ended up snagging a slick little longbow and it ignited the fire in me to start again. I picked up a couple bows but they were just missing something. So, I talked to my dad and he brought it up again. So starts the digging. Although I didn't find much, everything I did find was positive. "Hidden gem of traditional bows" and much more in the couple forms. A little more digging I found an email. I emailed Jim late Thursday 03/06/25 with a reply the same night. A couple emails later and a phone call on Saturday I end up picking up Jim's personal bow Sunday 03/09/25 evening. As soon as I shot his bows I knew what people were saying and was all in. The stars just happened to align and a couple days later we had made a plan to put "stock" bows online for purchase and make order forms to bring Firefly to as many people as we can!
